Description
The Joy Mini Dress is a 60’s inspired short wedding dress perfect for dancing the night away! Bell sleeves feature a flash of satin inside, and the boat neckline scoops across the collar and over the shoulders into a low back on this shift-style mini. A satiny lining means coverage and comfort, as does the relaxed fit of the dress.
This design is named after Fern & Moon’s amazing pattern-maker. Joy has a rare talent for making people feel light and excited about the future. This dress captures that too. Thank you Joy!
Made by hand in Vancouver BC. The leftover fabric is used in scrunches, applique detailing, and more to reduce fabric waste!
A relaxed fit, perfect for ordering online. A zipper in the back means the dress is easy to pull up over the hips (so you don’t mess up your hair and makeup). The body of the dress is lined for coverage, and the sleeves are unlined for comfort.

– Dry clean or hand wash in distilled water using clear detergent or white soap. Lay flat to dry. Steam, do not iron.
The Joy Mini Dress is off-white, with the warm undertones of an ivory, and the crispness of a white. Colors may vary in photos due to lighting. To order a swatch, email us [email protected]. All items are made to order, so there may be slight variations in each piece, but the integrity of the designs remains the same.
This dress looks amazing when it’s a little slouchy and cool. The sleeves are designed to fall part way down the hand. If you are between sizes or prefer a relaxed silhouette, size up.

ALTERATIONS
Speak to your tailor about the following potential alterations:
– Add darts in the back to add more shape
– Take the sleeves up to shorten their length
– Add a tie or chain across the shoulders to hold the dress in place
Our pieces are made to order in Vancouver BC, Canada. This process takes 10 weeks, but we recommend placing an order 6-8 months before your wedding to leave lots of time for shipping and alterations.

Most wedding dresses require some alterations to find your perfect fit (because not everything can be yoga pants). Our patterns were created with easy changes in mind, so your tailor can get in and out without too much hassle. Contact your local dress tailor or reputable alterationist to ensure you leave enough time for adjustments and fittings!
